The Robert Sorby Compatriot chuck gives you a fully working chuck, just without the jaws. The Compatriot chuck (also known as the companion chuck) is a fully working scroll chuck. It is ideal if you have a range of jaws and require a second setup. Some people choose to buy the complete range of Patriot jaws and mount each set in its own Compatriot chuck. This allows you to quickly swap a chuck rather than fiddle with fitting jaws. This also allows you to quickly move the jaws from lathe to lathe. As many jaws from different manufacturers are interchangeable, the Compatriot could allow you to use these jaws on a Patriot chuck. If you are uncertain if your existing jaws will fit, please feel free to ask, and we can check for you. The Compatriot chuck is supplied with a direct threaded M33 x x3.5mm or the insert version.
